Senior Coaching. Operating Discipline That Sticks.

What We Offer

Five Coaching & Consulting Offers

Every engagement is shaped to the company in front of us. These are the five distinct offers most clients start from, engaged singly or in combination.

01 · Owner Coaching

Owner-Operator Coaching

Weekly private coaching for the founder or CEO. The room where you think clearly about the business without the noise of the business. We work on what only the owner can decide.

  • Weekly 1:1
  • Decision Support
  • Delegation
  • Owner Time
  • Exit & Succession
02 · Cadence

Operating Cadence Install

The weekly, monthly, and quarterly rhythm that keeps the business aligned without the owner constantly forcing it. We install the weekly 1:1 and monthly review cadence on our partner platform HeyRamp, which keeps structured check-ins and performance conversations in one place after we leave.

  • Weekly Sync
  • Monthly Reviews
  • Quarterly Planning
  • Scorecards
  • Meeting Discipline
03 · Leadership Team

Leadership Team Performance

Group coaching for the leadership team. We raise the quality of debate, the honesty of the room, and the accountability between peers. Ends when the team can run a hard conversation without us in the room.

  • Team Coaching
  • Accountability
  • Conflict Skills
  • Off-Sites
  • Trust Building
04 · Function Clarity

Function-Level Clarity

Sales, operations, finance, and delivery each need a single owner, clear numbers, and a defined seat. We work through the org function by function until every seat has a person, a number, and a rhythm.

  • Org Design
  • Role Clarity
  • KPIs
  • Accountability Chart
  • Handoffs
05 · Family Business

Family Business Transition Coaching

Coaching for family-owned firms navigating a generational handover, a role reshuffle, or a next generation coming in. We hold space for the business decision and the family conversation as two separate things.

  • Succession
  • Second Generation
  • Governance
  • Family Meetings
  • Buyout Planning
Engagement Formats

Three Ways to Work With Summit

Pick the shape that fits where the business is right now. Most clients start with a diagnostic call before committing.

90 Days

Foundation Engagement

Diagnose, design, and install the operating cadence and coaching rhythm. Ends with a working system, not a report. The most common way to start.

Monthly, Ongoing

Sustain Retainer

Monthly senior coaching for the owner, plus optional leadership team sessions. Quarterly recalibration. Cancel any month with 30 days' notice.

Half-Day / Full-Day

Off-Site Facilitation

Facilitated quarterly planning, annual off-site, or a targeted leadership team session. Useful when the team needs to think together without the owner running the room.

How We Work

A Four-Stage Ascent

Every engagement moves through the same four stages. Each stage has a purpose, a deliverable, and a graceful exit point if the work is done.

01

Diagnose

Two weeks of listening. Owner conversations, leadership team interviews, and a read of the numbers to surface what is actually holding the company back.

02

Design

We sit with the owner and shape the coaching rhythm, the meeting cadence, the scorecards, and the accountability structure the next 90 days will install.

03

Install

We run the cadence with you. Weekly owner coaching, leadership sessions, the monthly review. The system goes from a plan on paper to a habit in the calendar.

04

Sustain

Monthly senior coaching, quarterly recalibration. Our role shrinks over time. If the cadence is holding, coaching graduates to on-call.

Who We Work With

Three Kinds of Owner-Led Firm

Owner-led. Doing real work. Ready to stop being the bottleneck. If that describes the company, the coaching tends to take.

Owner-Led Services Firms

Home services, professional services, trades, healthcare practices, agencies. The kind of firm where the owner still knows every client and the P&L, and the ceiling is their own time.

Family Businesses

First-to-second generation handovers, sibling partnerships, family boards. Companies where the business conversation and the family conversation live in the same room and need help staying separate.

Growth-Stage US Companies

Post-startup, pre-professional-management. The stage where the founder has to build a leadership team that can hold the company without them, and doesn't know where to start.

Common Questions

Questions Owners Ask First

The questions we hear on nearly every introductory call. If yours isn't here, ask on the call.

Who does Summit Business Coaching work with?

Owner-led services firms, family businesses, and growth-stage companies across the US. Most engagements are with founders, second-generation owners, and CEOs of firms doing between $2M and $40M in revenue who want senior coaching without the overhead of a national firm.

Where does Summit deliver its work?

Summit is a fully nationwide practice. All coaching, leadership sessions, and cadence installation are delivered remotely by video, which lets clients from every region of the US work with the same senior coach on the same rhythm.

What is an operating cadence, and why does it matter?

An operating cadence is the recurring rhythm of 1:1s, weekly leadership syncs, monthly business reviews, and quarterly planning that keeps a company aligned without burning out the owner. Most owner-led firms have no cadence at all, or one that only lives in the owner's head. We install a cadence that runs whether the owner is in the room or not.

How is coaching different from consulting?

Consulting hands you an answer. Coaching builds your capacity to reach the answer yourself, and next time without us. Summit does both. A typical engagement is coaching on the owner-operator level, paired with hands-on consulting to install the operating discipline the coaching depends on.

How long is a typical engagement?

Ninety days for the initial diagnose, design, and install phases. From there, most clients move into a monthly sustain retainer for six to twelve months while the cadence takes root. We build in a graceful exit at every stage. If coaching stops being useful, we say so.
